Floci
Intro
Floci is floci-io's local multi-cloud emulator—“Any cloud. Locally.”—for AI coding agents and developers who need a sandbox cloud: Docker-based stacks that mimic AWS (and other clouds) without real accounts, bills or auth walls. The org also ships floci-cli plus Agent Skill / AGENTS.md guidance for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and similar tools.
It appeared as a new daily GitHub Trending repo versus the previous radar window and is corroborated by floci.io and X chatter. Not an LLM—an agent-oriented local cloud fixture.
Explain
Traits
- MIT open source; marketed as free with no forced login.
- Uses real containers for some managed-service stand-ins—watch Docker socket cost in CI.
- Tied to agent workflows (Skill / AGENTS.md) to reduce “agent hits real cloud” accidents.
Caveats
Emulators never fully match production clouds; treat local Docker privileges as sensitive. Keep watching for star-farm noise, but the product site/docs look more complete than typical trending junk.
Usage
Who it is for
- Individuals/teams whose agents write IaC/serverless but should not touch real accounts.
- Platform engineers who want a disposable cloud fixture for agent CI.
Getting started
- Read floci.io and github.com/floci-io/floci quickstart.
- Bring the stack up with Docker and hit the sample APIs.
- Wire Skills via floci-cli / AGENTS.md into Claude Code or Cursor.
- Point agent cloud endpoints at the local emulator before destructive experiments.
