LiveReview
Intro
LiveReview is Hexmos's risk-aware AI code review product: it auto-approves low-risk changes and routes higher-risk PRs to humans, aiming to shrink review queues without ignoring critical paths.
Public materials claim roughly 40–50% of low-risk PRs can be auto-approved, with the rest handed to human reviewers. It is free to try and self-hostable. Product Hunt launch: 2026-11-07.
Highlights:
- Differentiator is risk tiering + auto-approve, not comments-only;
- Self-host option for teams careful about code egress;
- Intro: https://journal.hexmos.com/introducing-livereview/ ;
- Compare against comment-only AI review bots that never merge-gate.
Explain
Why it matters
Most AI reviewers only leave comments. LiveReview turns auto-approve into a product decision and can raise review throughput. Self-hosting helps compliance-sensitive orgs.
Limits
Risk-model errors can miss dangerous changes or block harmless ones — load-test with repo rules and rollback plans first. Do not confuse with unrelated "live review" streaming products.
Usage
- Read https://journal.hexmos.com/introducing-livereview/ ;
- Connect GitHub/GitLab per docs (or self-host);
- Enable low-risk auto-approve on a non-critical repo first and watch false positives/negatives;
- Expand to main-branch policy gradually and keep human overrides.
