Intro

Runway App Studio is Runway’s no-code creative app builder, launched 2026-10-26. Describe the tool you want in plain language; App Studio writes, tests and deploys a custom app with its own UI that generates images, video and audio with Runway models and can bind your team’s Brand Kits, Workflows, Assets and References.

The product page shipped with an official news post. Built-in starters include Character Swap, AutoComp, Product Portfolio, 3D Camera Control, Precise Edit and Runway Pro. App Studio is included in every paid plan (no add-on); building, running and hosting draw from existing credits. Heavy ZH/EN discussion continued in this scan window; the three earlier Oct 27 scans missed it, so this run backfills.

Explain

Product highlights (official launch post)

  • Describe → ship — conversational iteration with preview and rollback; code stays visible for reviewers.
  • Freeze workflows — turn an Agent session or Workflow into a reusable app so teammates only fill inputs.
  • Sharing — private by default; Team/Enterprise can share with people, projects or the workspace; paid users can publish a public link that visitors run on their own Runway credits.
  • Enterprise controls — inherits model kill-switches; admins can disable App Studio per workspace and gate public links.

Early-access stories (vendor)

Architecture firm KPF and others are cited building custom tools (driven design videos, fly-throughs, title localization, green-screen plate matching, character galleries). Treat these as vendor case studies.

Radar note

Ship date was 10-26; 00:32 / 08:32 / 12:32 all missed it. The 16:32 window still shows ongoing coverage plus verified official pages, so we store the product name Runway App Studio (not the umbrella brand Runway).

Usage

Try it

  1. Product: https://runway.com/product/app-studio
  2. Launch post: https://runway.com/news/company-news/introducing-runway-app-studio
  3. In a paid Runway workspace, open App Studio, describe an app (or remix a starter), preview, then share or publish
  4. Docs: Runway Help Center “Building apps with App Studio”

Who it’s for

  • Brand, marketing and film teams that want repeatable creative flows as buttons
  • Teams with Brand Kits / Workflows who want less prompt drift across collaborators

Caveats

  • Free users mainly run built-in or shared apps; building your own needs a paid plan
  • Usage burns existing credits; public-link visitors pay their own
  • It packages Runway’s generative stack — not a general-purpose software IDE
