Buddy One
Intro
Buddy One is a cross-application AI collaboration suite unveiled by Tencent on October 29, 2026 at the Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Summit, announced by Dowson Tong (Tang Daosheng), CEO of Tencent's Cloud and Smart Industries Group. It uses WorkBuddy — Tencent's AI office agent launched in March 2026 — as the central workbench and connects Tencent Docs, Tencent Meeting, ima, Tencent Netdisk and more under one identity, one credit pool and one shared context.
Tencent pitches it as "the Office suite for the agent era": instead of moving work into one app, all apps collaborate around the same context, identity and credits.
Explain
Key points
- Buddy One ID: free account linking — bind Docs, Meeting, ima and Netdisk inside WorkBuddy (PC 5.9.0+) and you no longer need to re-authorize or copy-paste context between them.
- Unified credit pool: WorkBuddy credits become Buddy One credits usable across WorkBuddy, Tencent Docs, ima and Netdisk (Meeting doesn't consume credits for now).
- Shared agent harness: AI features inside Netdisk, Docs and ima call WorkBuddy's agent harness under the hood; memory sharing is planned.
- Cross-product retrieval: one question can search and combine authorized docs, meeting notes and knowledge bases, with cited sources.
- Tencent Netdisk: launched alongside as the "memory space" that stores agent context and outputs as organizational assets.
- Context: WorkBuddy has handled 9B+ task requests, is used by 50% of China's top-500 enterprises, and has 200k+ skills; Tencent also previewed its upcoming Hy4 / Hy4 Flash models at the same event.
Usage
How to use it
- Update the WorkBuddy PC client to 5.9.0 or later.

- Ask WorkBuddy cross-app questions (e.g. "summarize last week's meetings and draft a report in Docs"); answers cite their sources.
- Enterprises can look at the WorkBuddy Enterprise suite, which integrates Docs, Lexiang, Netdisk and Ardot design. Background: InfoQ report.
