XuanYuan 4.5 (轩辕4.5)
Intro
XuanYuan 4.5 (轩辕4.5) is a new finance-enhanced large model released on November 2, 2026 at the opening of Hong Kong FinTech Week 2026 by Chinese lender Du Xiaoman, together with HKUST and the Hong Kong Generative AI Research & Development Center (HKGAI). It ships as two parts — a large language model and a multimodal model — and is pitched as the first financial model to apply self-evolving RSI (recursive self-improvement) techniques to both training and agent-scenario goal alignment.
Du Xiaoman claims about 30% better results in customer acquisition, risk control and customer operations, at roughly one-tenth the inference cost of top general-purpose models. The company says more than 1,000 agents and 5,000+ skills already run on XuanYuan, consuming over 100 billion tokens per day.
Explain
Key techniques
- Self-evolving RSI — an in-house Xuanyuan-Machine takes part in agent data synthesis, supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning so the model keeps adapting to financial tasks.
- Long-chain RL — for multi-step analysis it combines credit-SOP rewards with on-policy distillation to merge multiple expert capabilities.
- Scenario data — over 100B tokens of scenario-enhanced data built inside a compliant financial agent environment.
Reported results (company figures)
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| Agentic risk control | Strategy iteration cycle cut by more than half; short-term delinquency risk down ~50%, annualized delinquency down 12% |
| AI credit reviewer | Outperforms 80% of human reviewers; wait time from 10 min to 2 min |
| AI collections agent | Recovery rate 8%+ above traditional bots |
| Customer-service agent | Handles ~80% of high-frequency issues alone |
| WeCom agent | One account manager can serve up to 20,000 clients |
Background
XuanYuan is Du Xiaoman's finance LLM family, iterated since 2023. Du Xiaoman and HKUST set up a joint AI lab in March 2025; with 4.5 the company also plans to work with HKGAI to bring finance-enhanced models to international markets from its Hong Kong headquarters.
Usage
How to follow or use it
- Read the launch coverage — China News, People's Daily, Securities Daily and iFeng all published the Nov 2 announcement with technical and business details.
- Institutional partnerships — XuanYuan 4.5 mainly powers Du Xiaoman's own lending, risk and service operations, and is planned to be offered to Hong Kong and international financial institutions via HKGAI; contact Du Xiaoman through official channels.
- Research reference — the "self-evolving RSI + credit-SOP rewards + on-policy distillation" recipe is a useful template for RL in vertical-industry agents.
- Earlier open releases — previous XuanYuan models (e.g. XuanYuan-70B) were open-sourced on GitHub / Hugging Face and are a good starting point for finance-domain LLM work.
